Balavidyalaya Institute for Teacher Training trains teachers in the Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education Hearing Impaired recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi, and registered with the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Institute aims to train teachers in early intervention techniques. The teachers are trained to help infants and young children deaf or hard of hearing acquire age-appropriate verbal language skills and readiness skills required for integrating them into mainstream schools.
The lecture hall of the Institute is equipped with audio visual aids and is located in the second floor of the school building.
Application forms are issued every year from January. The course fee is Rs 25,000/- (* subject to change), which includes manuals and some materials for teaching aids.
Hostel facilities are outsourced and can be chosen by the candidate.
Candidates who have completed their DECSEHI in Balavidyalaya have either joined existing Early Intervention Centers or have started new Early Intervention Centers.
Balavidyalaya provides technical support to the Early Intervention Centres.
